Hutton thrilled by Rangers ambition after six-figure McCann transfer reveal
Alan Hutton has admitted Charlie McCann looks a “really promising” signing for Rangers after joining from Manchester United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender insisted the 19-year-old’s arrival was a testament to the ambition at Ibrox.
Rangers confirmed McCann had joined the club from United on Friday (July 30th)
Football Insider revealed earlier that day the Light Blues will pay around £750,000 for the midfielder.
The Republic of Ireland under-18 international will initially join up with the Scottish giants’ B team.
Hutton insisted McCann’s capture was proof of the Light Blues’ ambitious transfer policy.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He’s had a good grounding and development with Coventry and then going to Manchester United.
“I think he’ll go into the youth set up for now, but he’s a really promising talent for the future.
“One Steven Gerrard’s identified to be able to progress into the Rangers first team.
“It’s always good to see how they’re not looking to just buy success instantly. They’re looking to the future and looking to bring people in to develop and make better to then introduce them to the first team.
“It just shows you the type of talent they’re able to pick up, like a promising young star from Manchester United.”
McCann joined Manchester United from Coventry in 2018 at the age of 16.
The teenager did not make a senior appearance during his time at Old Trafford but featured 62 times across various age groups.
He made a total of 20 appearances for The Red Devils’ under-23s last season.
