Rangers star Fabio Silva clashed with fans at Ibrox in the 4-1 win against Kilmarnock as he is unhappy with recent criticism from supporters.

Silva has been widely slammed for his displays in recent weeks and responded by pointing to the crowd before aiming a silencing gesture.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Alan Hutton explained that he would have seen the criticism on social media and wanted to react.

It was said that the celebration, which raised plenty of controversy among fans as Football Insider shared, came as a release of built-up emotion.

Hutton went on to urge Silva to concentrate on his game rather than confrontation with fans regardless of his frustrations.

It had also been suggested that the forward was involved in a dressing room bust-up at Ibrox, as Frank McAvennie told Football Insider.

Hutton explained that having seen criticism on social media, Silva's celebration was an attempt to remind everybody of his ability.

However, the best way to silence his doubters would be to just get on with his game and make sure his performances improve.

"It was probably that built-up emotion within him. He's probably been seeing everything that's been said about him and is unhappy about it," he told Football Insider.

"As a footballer nowadays, through social media, you do see everything. It was probably a reaction to that.

"He did get the team back into it. We've seen in flashes how good he can be and I think he's just trying to remind everybody of who he is.

"Maybe instead of that, just celebrate the goal as normal. Get on with it and show everybody what you can do on the pitch."
