Jones tipped to leave Rangers as Campbell reveals all
Jordan Jones is likely to leave Rangers on loan again ahead of next season – but he won’t be returning to Sunderland.
That is according to ex-Scottish Premiership forward Noel Whelan, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 26-year-old winger.
Jones spent the second half of the 2020-21 campaign with the Black Cats and featured 21 times across all competitions.
He signed for Rangers from Kilmarnock in June 2019 and his contract at Ibrox has another two years left to run.
The Athletic‘s Jordan Campbell reported on 17th July that Rangers are open to loaning him out again for 2021-22
But Whelan claims that a deal would have already been sorted if Jones was going to return to the Stadium of Light.

He told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “He’s a player just like Jesse Lingard at West Ham and Willock at Newcastle.
“If you’ve done that well on loan then you want to sort a deal out as soon as the season finishes.
“If that deal was going to be done, I’m pretty sure it would have been done very quickly.
“They’d have wanted to get it over the line as soon as possible to stop other teams jumping in the queue and getting ahead of them.
“So it looks like it could be another different loan deal for him next season.”
Jones was benched for the second leg as Sunderland lost in the League One play-off semi-finals against Lincoln City in May.
He has made 19 appearances in total since signing for Rangers.
