Rangers: Thelo Aasgaard in serious trouble as Danny Rohl wants Josh Windass reunion
Rangers attacking-midfielder Thelo Aasgaard may be looking over his shoulder as Danny Rohl drives a move for Wrexham forward Josh Windass ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
According to Ben Jacobs on X, the Gers have made another approach to sign the 32-year-old after being rebuffed by the EFL Championship club in January.
Football Insider have covered reports that Lawrence Shankland could be moving to Ibrox from Hearts very soon and it looks like the Light Blues have no intention of stopping there when it comes to attacking reinforcements.
In the one full season Rohl worked with Windass, the Englishman was deployed in multiple positions up front, but he mostly played as a number 10.
Aasgaard’s inconsistency at Ibrox has frustrated many supporters in G51 and fans wouldn’t mind seeing the back of the Norway international in the summer.

Aasgaard was one of Kevin Thelwell’s 12 signings at the Gers last summer and most of them failed to live up to expectations in the 2025-26 campaign.
The 24-year-old playmaker was tipped to be a difference-maker for the Light Blues, but his lack of impact has seen the Ibrox faithful turn on him in one season.

With the Norwegian midfielder arguably not guaranteed a starting spot when everyone is fit he may be in serious trouble if further additions are made up front.
After a year of learning, Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises certainly won’t hesitate to do what’s needed to build a competitive squad for Rohl in the summer window.
Josh Windass could be missing piece of puzzle at Ibrox
James Tavernier was the second-highest goalscorer for Rangers this season, with Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski making up the top three.
Aasgaard scored eight in all competitions for the Gers, but the striker could have done with more support from their attacking teammates.
Windass has continued to be prolific in the Championship with Wrexham, scoring 15 league goals for them, and he could bring much-needed quality in the final third to the Glaswegian outfit.
With Shankland also possibly on his way to Ibrox, the Hearts captain’s partnership with the Govan side’s former attacker could prove prolific for Rohl.
