Kenny tells Rangers to sell Morelos as two-times Champions League winners ready eight-figure bid
Rangers must sell Alfredo Morelos as soon as possible so they can begin planning for next season’s title defence.
That is according to ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Colombian striker’s Ibrox future.
The Scottish Sun reported today (24th June) that Porto will step up their efforts to sign the 25-year-old striker next week after their financial fair play restrictions are lifted.
It is claimed that Rangers are looking for between £15million and £20m for the player whose contract expires in 2023.
But the two-times Champions League winners are understood to be readying a £10m bid after meeting with Morelos’ representatives last week.
Kenny insists that getting rid of Morelos should be a no-brainer for the Scottish champions so they can move on to alternative targets.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “If he’s pushing for a move, I can’t imagine Steven Gerrard would want something like that lingering over the club.
“They’ll want to get the squad settled, have a good pre-season and try and retain that title.
“You may as well cut your losses, get him sold and move on. Go and get someone who wants to be there, who’s gonna play well, score goals and help you towards that title.
“That way, you can go and organise your side for next season too.”
Morelos signed for Rangers from Finnish side HJK Helsinki in 2017 in a deal reported to be worth £1m.
He has gone on to net 94 times in 182 appearances.
