Rangers will provide perfect stage for Amario Cozier-Duberry, Brighton must take Tottenham example
Rangers are part of the growing race to sign Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry on loan this summer.
The 21-year-old excelled in the English League One with Bolton Wanderers this term, as he notched eight goals and 10 assists in the league to help his loan club secure promotion to the Championship.
The starlet is due to return to his parent club in the coming weeks, and it is already clear that he will be making a significant jump in level with his next loan move.
Cozier-Duberry is in line to secure a new deal at the Amex Stadium after catching the eye for Bolton in 2025-26, but they are seemingly not yet ready to throw him in at the deep end with their first team.
Rangers’ transfer plans are set to see them target further attacking additions this summer, and they are also likely to be tasked with the small matter of replacing Mikey Moore.

Brighton are certainly not short of options as to where they allow Cozier-Duberry to take his next step in 2026-27, with a whole host of clubs already trying to secure a loan deal for him.
The Athletic journalist Andy Naylor recently confirmed via his X account that Rangers are in the race, alongside the likes of Monaco, Koln, Schalke and Cercle Brugge.
| Stats | Cozier-Duberry Totals |
| Apps (Starts) | 34 (30) |
| G/A | 18 |
| Chances Created per 90 | 1.8 |
| Successful Dribbles per 90 | 2.21 |
| Shots on Target per 90 | 1.09 |
| Duels Won % | 45.1% |
Some of those candidates would allow Cozier-Duberry to play at a much higher level than the Scottish Premiership, but Rangers’ recent work to develop Moore may seriously boost their hopes.
The Tottenham starlet dazzled at Ibrox throughout the season, and that could be all the evidence that Brighton need to sanction Cozier-Duberry’s move, in the hope that Moore’s feats can be replicated.
Clubs can easily gain a reputation as providing a perfect stage for developing young players, and Rangers’ reputation will undoubtedly have been done no harm by Moore’s exploits.

Cozier-Duberry is likely in a similar situation at Brighton at the moment in that he needs one more loan spell before slotting into the first-team, and the recent evidence of Rangers’ work may just give them an upper hand in the race.
Why is Rangers such a good environment for young players?
Former Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that Rangers will target young and hungry players this summer, with Rohl keen to get players with a strong desire to improve.
Cozier-Duberry undoubtedly falls into that category, and he could become the latest to benefit from the spotlight that has seen both Moore and Emmanuel Fernandez flourish of late.
Rangers can provide the perfect balance for young players of a decent level of football, but also the pressure of playing for a club with big demands, who expect to compete for every possible trophy.
The atmosphere created at Ibrox is also ideal to prepare starlets for the cauldrons that they will one day face in the Premier League, given the similarities in footballing culture between England and Scotland.
There is ample evidence in recent years of the environment that Rangers can provide, and that will surely make them an attractive proposition for Brighton on this occasion.
