Rangers working on 'five' new signings after source's Josh Maja update - expert
Alan Hutton has insisted Rangers will be targeting “five” players for every position at the end of the season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said that Josh Maja will still be high on the list of transfer targets.
In February, sources told this site that the Light Blues have a genuine interest in the 24-year-old as they prepare for a major overhaul of their attack in the summer.
As quoted by The Herald (6 May), when asked about the interest from the Glasgow club, the striker revealed he will make the decision about his future at the end of the season.
The Nigeria international is waiting to find out if current club Bordeaux wants to keep him ahead of his contract expiring this summer.
But, as revealed by Football Insider (27 March), the French club have the option to extend Maja’s contract if they get promoted to Ligue 1 next season.

When asked if Beale’s side will still be pursuing the attacker, Hutton told Football Insider: “I would have thought so.
“They have obviously put hard work into the recruitment side of it. It is an area where they obviously need to strengthen.
“I understand from a player’s point of view that you want to keep your options open, you do not necessarily want to tie yourself down instantly when you know how long the window is.
“It could be a good move, playing at a high level, European football, it is obviously something Rangers will monitor. But they will have other options, they are not just going to focus everything on one player.
“Michael Beale will have two, three, four or five players that he is looking at for each position and it is what he can get over the line and who ticks most of the boxes.
“Yes he will be high up on the list but they will want to keep their options open.“
