Danny Rohl sends message to Youssef Chermiti after Rangers blow
Danny Rohl has reached out to wish Youssef Chermiti well on social media after the Rangers striker suffered a serious injury.
The German manager left Rangers by mutual consent in June to become the new Red Bull Salzburg boss after just eight months in charge at Ibrox.
He helped guide the Gers into the Premiership title battle towards the end of last term before they finished third, but never truly won fans over during his stint at the helm.
Rohl did oversee some shrewd business in the transfer market as Chermiti arrived from Everton for £8million last September and went on to score 15 goals in 30 league games.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club this summer following Rohl's exit, but Rangers rejected a huge bid for his services from Galatasaray last week.
Their snub came just hours before he was stretchered off in their 2-1 loss to Hibernian, and the extent of the injury has now been confirmed with Rohl reaching out on Instagram.

Chermiti was Rohl's go-to man in his first season at Ibrox, with the 37-year-old praising him as a "big-game player" and someone who "scores fantastic goals."
The Portuguese youth international scored an extraordinary overhead kick against Celtic in March, which went on to be voted as the official Premiership Goal of the Season.
He was handed a first league start of the campaign against Hibs on Sunday, but was forced off in the 36th minute after battling for the ball with Josh Mulligan and collapsing in a heap.
Rangers confirmed on Tuesday morning that the 22-year-old will be out injured "for a significant period" after suffering ACL damage.
Former Gers boss Rohl took to his Instagram story to send a message to his old striker, saying: "Be strong and get well soon."
Which strikers could Rangers target after Chermiti's injury?
Chermiti's long-term problem will force Derek McInnes into returning to the market for a new striker before the window shuts.
They have not been heavily linked to a new forward signing since Lawrence Shankland's arrival, with wingers and defenders mainly on the agenda in recent weeks.
Sources have previously told Football Insider that Rangers admire Claudio Braga after McInnes' work with him at Hearts, and they may well accelerate a move after this latest blow.
Celtic are also keen to complete a deal for the Jambos frontman, so a transfer battle may well ensue in the coming weeks.
