Rangers' chances of signing Claudio Braga revealed after latest development
Rangers will find it difficult to compete financially when it comes to a move for Hearts forward Claudio Braga this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Light Blues are strong admirers of the 26-year-old, but are not expected to be able to meet the Jambos' reported £9million asking price.
Braga is also keen to test himself at the highest level possible in the coming years, and sources say that he would be lured away by interest from the Premier League or a top European club.
Derek McInnes has already raided Hearts for two of his former stars this summer, and it is understood that Braga is unlikely to be the third, unless the Ibrox outfit can find a way to overcome the hurdle of his valuation.
Braga scored 17 goals in all competitions in his debut season in Scotland, and was signed by Hearts from Norwegian side Aalesund for just £400,000 last summer.
The Edinburgh outfit are now staring down a significant profit on the striker by Scottish Premiership standards.
Claudio Braga hoping for Premier League interest
Both Rangers and Celtic have been heavily linked with Braga for several months now, but the player has his eyes fixed on bigger things.
Ipswich Town have recently been tipped to move for him in the coming weeks, although the Daily Record have since reported that the Suffolk outfit are not lining up a deal any time soon.
Nevertheless, Braga is keen to make a move to England happen if Premier League interest resurfaces in the coming weeks.
The lure of the English top-flight is something that would be very difficult to resist, despite the success that he enjoyed at Tynecastle last term.
The Jambos are aiming to ward off potential suitors with their £9m valuation, but the money will be no object for a Premier League club if a move is made.
Rangers working to sign 'the next Erling Haaland'
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider earlier this week that Rangers are trying to find "the next Erling Haaland" with their scouting programme in Scandinavia.
The ex-recruitment man was adamant that the Glasgow giants need to explore European markets when they can get the best value of their money, and pick up promising talents without the premium of major leagues.
The Scandinavian market has been fruitful for Scottish clubs in recent years, with Braga proving to be a steal for Hearts.
Rangers are now chasing long-term target Jens Hjerto-Dahl once again, amid a feeling that he could develop into a truly special midfielder.
