Ianis Hagi sends message to Nicolas Raskin after Rangers hammer Celtic

Rangers players past and present have been quick to take to Instagram after Derek McInnes' side destroyed Celtic 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The Gers ran riot in the first Old Firm Derby of the season, as they brushed the visitors aside to book their place in the semi-final of the Premier Sports Cup.

Dan Neil netted a pair of strikes from outside the box, while Kevin Kelsy also got off the mark for his new club with a well-taken volley.

It was a typically lively occasion at Ibrox, and with no Celtic supporters in attendance due to the recent ban on away fans, Rangers took control of the game.

Their victory has now set them up with a date with Aberdeen at Hampden Park, with the pair set to go head-to-head for a place in the final on 31 October.

Rangers' win on Sunday clearly meant a lot to McInnes and his squad, who are in fine form of late, but it has also got plenty of their previous stars talking.

Nicolas Raskin appeared to be back to his best for Rangers on Sunday, as he and Neil completely dictated the midfield battle from start to finish.

The pair took control of the game with their tireless energy, despite Celtic having a numerical advantage in that area of the pitch.

Raskin has enjoyed his fair share of Old Firm derbies by now, but clearly the joy of defeating the Gers' bitter rivals still hasn't worn off for him.

The Belgian took to Instagram after the game to share a series of photos, including his team walking out at the start of the game, accompanied by the caption of a red, white and blue heart.

His post drew plenty of reaction from familiar Rangers faces, as Mohammed Diomande, Jack Butland and Hamza Igamane all jumped in with comments.

Ianis Hagi's response was perhaps most noticeable, as he simply commented: "That's just beautiful" under Raskin's post.

Hagi became a hero at Rangers across a spell of over four years in their colours, and clearly still holds the club close to his heart.

Nicolas Raskin's Saudi Arabia stance revealed

Football Insider revealed last weekend that Raskin has no intention of leaving Rangers to move to Saudi Arabia in January.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Al-Ittihad of late, but it is understood that a move to the Middle East is not something that would appeal to him.

Instead, Raskin is keen to remain in Europe and wants to test himself in one of the continent's top leagues in the coming years.

Rangers have worked hard to fend off interest in their star in recent years, and they look set to face another battle to keep hold of him in January.
