Nicolas Raskin: Rangers star plans to reject Saudi offer as exit plan revealed

Nicolas Raskin has no plans to join a Saudi Pro League team if he leaves Rangers in the January window, sources have told Football Insider.

Raskin has remained at Rangers until the new year at least after being heavily linked away from the club throughout the summer window.

Turkish side Besiktas came the closest to securing his signature, but were unable to match the Gers' lofty valuation of his services.

The Belgian international has also attracted interest from Saudi club Al Ittihad, with their window still open, but Derek McInnes does not want to sell him without being able to sign a replacement.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Raskin is not interested in moving to the Middle East anytime soon as he chases a move to a top European league.

He will have to continue impressing for the Gers to earn such a move, with a January exit likely if a club meets their valuation.

Raskin produced his best performance of the season so far as Rangers beat St Mirren 1-0 on Wednesday night.

He was linked to the likes of Everton and Leeds last summer, with the Premier League believed to be his ultimate goal after Rangers.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "I think for Raskin, he probably has ambitions to play at the highest level in Europe still at the age that he's at right now.

"He's still a very key player for Rangers, so I'd be very surprised if a move to the Saudi Pro League was something that he was considering right now as well."

Bojan Miovski's exit to be blocked after injury blow

While Raskin could leave in the new year, Rangers are set to look to hold onto another of their wantaway players.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Rangers want striker Miovski to stay at the club after Lawrence Shankland suffered a serious hamstring injury.

The North Macedonian international scored his first goal of the season as he grabbed the winner against St Mirren, and is in line for more game time with the club captain out for around three months.
