Oliver Antman could be handed a chance to revive his Rangers career against Aberdeen after Mikey Moore’s recent injury.

Danny Rohl confirmed on Friday that the Tottenham loanee had picked up a knock ahead of their upcoming clash at Ibrox.

With Andreas Skov-Olsen also a doubt due to illness, it could allow Antman to return to the starting XI, with Djeidi Gassama moving back to the right wing.

Antman has struggled for minutes in recent months, but a good performance against the Dons could help revive his career at Ibrox.

As a result, on top of the Scottish Premiership title race, Saturday’s mouthwatering Rangers clash could have plenty of long-term effects on Rohl’s squad.

Oliver Antman could be offered rare start vs Aberdeen

Antman’s Rangers career has not gone to plan so far.

Despite impressing in his early appearances, goal contributions have been hard to come by for the winger, with the 24-year-old picking up just five in 24 appearances.

As a result, his performances and injuries have seen him mainly placed on the bench, with his last start in the Scottish Premiership coming in the 0-0 draw against Falkirk.

However, given the lack of available wingers, Antman could be offered a chance to revive his Rangers career.

If the winger can pick up a goal contribution and put in a good performance against Aberdeen, it could convince Rohl to hand him further starts after the international break.

Therefore, the Dons showdown could prove to be the biggest game in Antman’s Rangers career to date.

Can Danny Rohl survive Rangers’ injuries?

Football Insider recently revealed that there are no plans to sack Rohl despite the fanbase’s increasing amount of frustration.

Heart of Midlothian’s slip-up against Kilmarnock last weekend was a massive boost for both Rangers and Rohl, with the club now just three points off the summit.

However, if the Gers fail to pick up three points against Aberdeen, it will likely see more of the fanbase turn against him.

While the sack is unlikely this season, barring a dreadful collapse, a defeat could ensure that the Ibrox faithful will be on his back from the get-go next season.

Nevertheless, with Rangers back in the title race, if Rohl can successfully navigate these injuries and deliver a win against Aberdeen, they will be in a great position after the international break.
