Rangers could be set for a change in the dugout this summer, with Danny Rohl facing heavy criticism.

The manager has overseen three consecutive defeats, ending the Gers’ title hopes and ensured that they will miss out on Champions League qualification.

As a result, calls for Rohl to be sacked have grown louder, with fans continuing to call for Steven Gerrard to return to the club.

However, this could be a difficult task, with Blackburn Rovers now linked to Gerrard. An appointment at the Championship outfit is at 16/1, with Oddchecker on 13 May confirming these odds have been slashed.

Therefore, with an appointment at Blackburn becoming increasingly likely, Rangers are running out of time to appoint Gerrard.

Steven Gerrard attracting interest from multiple clubs

Blackburn are not the only club who have been linked to Gerrard.

Burnley have also been heavily linked to the former Aston Villa manager, and the 45-year-old is currently the odds-on favourite to get the role.

Gerrard had a great career at Rangers

The Clarets are preparing for life back in the Championship, and see Gerrard as a potential manager to get them back to the Premier League.

With more job vacancies likely to arise as the rest of the campaigns come to a close, Rangers are at serious risk of losing out on Gerrard.

As a result, the Gers will have to take action quickly if they want the former England international in the Ibrox dugout for the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

Who else could Rangers appoint?

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Rangers were in advanced talks to appoint Kevin Muscat in October.

The former Gers star is currently in charge of Shanghai Port in China and has won multiple titles at the club as well as in Japan and Australia so far in his managerial career.

His success has attracted many admirers, with the 52-year-old winning multiple trophies with ease.

While Rangers opted to appoint Rohl instead back in October, the Old Firm side could now consider going back in for Muscat.

However, it remains to be seen who they opt to appoint if they do sack Rohl over the summer, with the pressure continuing to heat up on the German.
