Rangers are advancing on agreeing a deal for Brighton star Amario Cozier-Duberry in the coming days, sources have told Football Insider.

The Ibrox club have already seen two offers rejected for 21-year-old, first of £7million, and then £7.5million, as they edge closer towards the Seagulls' asking price.

Brighton are open to letting him move on permanently this summer, but insist his asking price must be met, while Rangers remain very keen to get a deal over the line.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Rangers are still working on a deal to sign Cozier-Duberry and are submitting a new offer to try to get an agreement in place.

This comes as Brighton's asking price remains slightly out of reach, with the Ibrox club having pulled out of their pursuit of other wingers for similar price tags earlier in the window.

However, negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, and there is still optimism that Rangers can get a deal over the line before the 3 September deadline.

Could Rangers make another move for Amario Cozier-Duberry?

Football Insider reported when Rangers' interest first emerged in May that they could be the ideal desstination for Cozier-Duberry to develop his talents.

However, with the window edging nearer to closing, Rangers have been told they will have to pay big money to get a deal over the line, leading to some new concerns.

Negotiations are continuing and Rangers are still pushing to get a deal over the line, but doubts have begun to grow despite the optimism at Ibrox.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Rangers are very keen on Cozier-Duberry. They've had two bids rejected now, the second of which was around £7.5million.

"Brighton are holding out for around 10 million if they are to sell Cozier-Dubry, which is a big fee and I'm not sure Rangers will be willing to go that high for him either.

"It's a difficult deal to do for Rangers because of the price tag that's on Cozier-Duberry's head, and that could really damage their chances of bringnig him in."

What is Brighton's asking price for Cozier-Duberry?

Rangers have now seen two bids rejected for Cozier-Duberry, with Brighton determined to stick by their asking price for the winger rather than let him leave on a cut-price deal.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 18 August that Brighton are demanding £10million for Cozier-Duberry and plan to maximise his value this summer.

The 21-year-old is highly regarded at the Amex and stunned during his loan spell at Bolton Wanderers last season, where he played a key role in their promotion campaign.

Rangers have been impressed by what they have seen from Cozier-Duberry and believe he would be the ideal option to strengthen out wide after the position became a priority.

However, they have been told they will need to improve their offer if they wish to get a deal over the line, with Brighton not backing down from their lofty asking price.
