Brighton have placed a £10million asking price on Amario Cozier-Duberry amid interest from Rangers, sources have told Football Insider.

The Ibrox club have already seen a £7million offer rejected by the Seagulls, who are sticking to their valuation, and it remains to be seen whether they will make a fresh bid.

The 21-year-old is highly regarded at the Amex and stunned during his loan spell at Bolton Wanderers last season, where he played a key role in their promotion campaign.

Rangers have been impressed by what they have seen from Cozier-Duberry and believe he would be the ideal option to strengthen out wide under Derek McInnes.

However, they have been told they will need to improve their offer if they wish to get a deal over the line, with Brighton not backing down from their lofty asking price.

Cozier-Duberry is under contract at the Amex until 2028, with the Seagulls keen to maximise his value if they are to sell in the closing stages of the transfer window.

Why do Rangers want to sign Amario Cozier-Duberry?

Brown told Football Insider on 10 August that Rangers are set to back McInnes with a late-window signing spree after he spoke out about a lack of depth.

The boss confessed he wants to strengthen the squad out wide before the end of the season, and Cozier-Duberry has now emerged as the top target in that position.

The Brighton winger impressed on loan at Bolton in League One last season, as he scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Those performances have attracted interest from a number of clubs across Europe, but after their opening offer, Rangers have placed themselves in pole position to do a deal.

Capable of playing both on the right and left-hand side, the winger's pace, eye for goal and ability to bring his teammates into play have impressed watching scouts.

However, Brighton's £10million asking price may prove to steep for Rangers, who have backed out of other deals already this summer after being quoted similar fees.

Which other wingers are on Rangers' radar?

Given Brighton's firm stance and lofty asking price for Cozier-Duberry, Rangers may be forced to consider other options as they aim to strengthen their squad out wide.

A number of targets have been considered at Ibrox in recent weeks, with McInnes looking to build on the arrival of Daisuke Yokata out wide.

Football Insider revealed on 8 August that Rangers are interested in signing Fenerbahce winger Oguz Aydin and have been keeping a close eye on his situation.

However, they will face competition in their pursuit of the Turkey international, with Feyenoord, Espanyol and Hamburg also in the race for his signature.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce are not expected to let him go on the cheap, and are preparing to demand a significant fee if they are to let him go before the end of the month.
