Rangers make transfer U-turn after Lawrence Shankland development
Lawrence Shankland's injury blow will see Bojan Miovski handed more game time as Rangers make plans to keep him past January, sources have told Football Insider.
Miovski's future at Rangers has been up in the air for the last few months after slipping down the striker pecking order following Derek McInnes' appointment.
The North Macedonian international bagged 13 goals in 42 games in his debut season at the club, but has seen Shankland and Kevin Kelsy arrive to compete for places in the summer window.
Rangers have been rocked by Shankland's latest injury blow, which has seen him join Youssef Chermiti in the treatment room for the next three months with a hamstring tear.
Miovski is now set for an increase in minutes up to the January window after featuring in just three of their first 10 competitive games of the campaign.
He could even remain at Ibrox beyond the January transfer window if he impresses in the next few months.

Miovski proved his quality in the Premiership by bagging 32 goals in 77 league games during a two-year spell at Aberdeen between 2022 and 2024.
His subsequent move to Girona did not work out, but he looked to be back on the right track at Rangers under Danny Rohl last season.
The club's summer transfer activity pointed to McInnes being content to see him leave, but he is now likely to feature more while competing for places with Kelsy and Ryan Naderi.
Miovski came out with a dramatic statement on social media last weekend to announce that he had parted ways with his agent and will be representing himself from now on.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Miovski wanted to leave Rangers in the summer and is still keen on an exit in January, hence the split,yet circumstances have changed and he may now be able to win McInnes over.
McInnes is ready to hand Miovski a chance this season
Rangers are aiming to continue their three-game winning streak with another victory at home against St Mirren on Wednesday night.
Miovski is in line to feature, likely from the bench, and McInnes has admitted that he has been fighting to impress in training ahead of the game.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, he said: "Ryan [Naderi] was a significant investment; he's a handful and when he plays with a partner, he does the job and did really well at the weekend. The club has spent a lot on Kevin [Kelsy], it's a big step but we think it's the right one.
"Bojan's goals per game in Scotland is very strong. He's trained brilliantly and it looked as though he was maybe going elsewhere but such is the way, I'm glad we have these three lads in the building."
