Sources: Rangers set to reject new Nicolas Raskin offer amid £10m update

Rangers will block any approaches to sign Nicolas Raskin from the Saudi Pro League until the January window opens, sources have told Football Insider.

Raskin has stayed at Ibrox past the end of every European transfer window despite constant links away throughout the summer.

He missed two Rangers matches at the end of August amid transfer speculation, with Besiktas seeing an offer rejected towards the final stages of their transfer window.

Derek McInnes has reintegrated him back into his squad and insisted that the Belgian international is keen to keep starring for his side.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Rangers will not let him leave for the Saudi Pro League before their window slams shut amid reported interest from Al Ittihad.

The Gers' business is done until January at least, which is when they are expected to field more offers for his services.

Raskin will enter the final 18 months of his contract in the new year, with a new deal unlikely to be signed before June 2028.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Rangers are set to demand upwards of £10million for Raskin'sservices after Besiktas' loan offer fell short of their valuation.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "I don't think Rangers want to let him leave right now. Obviously, they turned down those offers from Besiktas before the Turkish window closed, so that shows their intent to keep hold of Raskin. Rangers are planning on keeping hold of Raskin until January, at least until that transfer window opens. While he's there, he'll be contributing.

"I don't think Rangers will be looking to let Raskin leave, because it would leave the squad short. If he were to leave now, there's no other transfer windows open, so Rangers can't go out and replace him. I think any talk of a move will probably be on the back burner until the January window, when his name I'm sure will crop up again."

What has McInnes said about Raskin's situation ahead of January?

There is a general acceptance that Raskin could leave Ibrox midway through the campaign if the right offer arrives.

McInnes has made it clear that nothing is set in stone, but talks have been held with the 25-year-old and they are all on the same page regarding his future at the club.

Speaking to reporters last week, he said: "I’ve had many discussions with Nico over the last period and he feels that he just wants to really concentrate and work with us and try to make the best of the situation. He understands that at Rangers, you have to be on the job to get wins here.

“For him now, it’s about working towards the January window. I don’t want everyone to assume that players just want to go in the next window. I think it’s important that message is clear to my players, I want to get into a position where nobody wants to leave here. Obviously, sometimes money matters, especially when what’s available in countries like Turkey, where salaries are net, can be astronomical amounts that are difficult to turn down for clubs and players."
