Todd Cantwell's social media response to Jack Butland's farewell message annoys Rangers fans
Jack Butland has finally sealed his move away from Ibrox and several seasons of Rangers fans wanting an upgrade between the sticks.
Mistakes have been far more common from the 33-year-old in recent campaigns, with supporters growing frustrated of the trust shown in him.
However, with his move to Hull City finally confirmed, with Ivor Pandur coming the other way in a £6million deal, the emotional messages have begun to pour in.
In 2025-26, he played a total of 55 games across all competitions, keeping 13 clean sheets, but also five errors leading to goal in the Scottish Premiership and Europa League.
He would make a number of sensational saves, only to make one defining mistake to throw the game away for Rangers, and that was a constant theme.
Now, Derek McInnes will feel far more comfortable in his goalkeeper, with Butland now excited for his next challenge back in England.
Jack Butland to Hull City announced
Having just won promotion back to the Premier League, Hull have signed the veteran on a two-year deal, with the option of another 12 months.
Taking to Instagram after the deal was confirmed, Butland wrote: "Can't wait to get started, Hull City," with punching, and orange and black heart emojis.
In response, former West Brom, Watford and Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster commented, "Smash it, mate," while Todd Cantwell annoyed some Rangers fans with his reaction.
The former Rangers midfielder, who fell out with Philippe Clement before putting in a transfer request, simply replied with an emoji of a tiger.
What were Butland's best moments in a Rangers shirt?
Probably the most defining moments of his career with the Gers was a Europa League quarter-final clash with Fenerbahce in March 2025.
He saved two penalties in the shootout, labelling it "one of my most special nights in football," and certainly one of the Light Blues' in recent times.
The 2023-24 campaign was also massive for the shot-stopper, ending the season as Rangers Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year.
He was the reason the Gers reached the League Cup that season, and it was yet another defining moment in his career before the downfall.
