Rangers target Claudio Braga had an awful game on Tuesday as Hearts were battered 4-0 against Sturm Graz in the Champions League qualifiers.

The 26-year-old target is reportedly high on the Gers shortlist this summer, but he may have ruined his chance of securing a move based on his recent performance.

The attacker struggled and was unable to do anything in attack, with Hearts effectively out of the Champions League in the second qualifying round unless they are able to overturn a four-goal deficit at Tynecastle.

Braga had been one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership last season and won the division's Player of the Season Award for his performances for Hearts.

However, this form has not continued into the new campaign, as the Jambos were humiliated against the Austrian side.

As a result, Rangers have been given a transfer warning not to pursue the attacker any further.

Claudio Braga flops vs Sturm Graz

In a crucial match, Braga simply did not turn up against Sturm Graz.

This is reflected in his stats, with Fotmob on 22 July, highlighting just how ineffective he was.

Overall, he had four shots, an xG of 0.15, completed 67 per cent of his passes, created one chance, had a dribble success rate of 25 per cent, an accurate cross rate of 33 per cent, and was even dispossessed once.

Therefore, any Rangers officials watching on will be far from impressed, with Braga doing nothing to help Hearts’ cause.

As a result, the Gers may not be tempted to look at other attacking targets, with the 26-year-old currently out-of-form.

Who else are Rangers linked with?

In recent weeks, Rangers have been heavily linked with Jens Hjerto-Dahl.

The young Tromso midfielder has impressed in Norway, with numerous clubs taking an interest in the 20-year-old this summer.

Going into the final half of the window, it appears it is a two-way race between Rangers and Cardiff for Hjerto-Dahl’s signature, with the latter club now stepping in their pursuit.

However, it remains to be seen who will win the race as both clubs look to upgrade their midfield options ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
