Rangers fans say the same thing after talks ‘progress’ for Cammy Devlin signing
Rangers fans are far from impressed that the club are closing in on the signing of former Hearts star man Cameron Devlin this summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old midfielder is now a free agent after his contract expired at Tynecastle.
The Australian international was key to Hearts’ title push last season, and picked up the Fans’ Player of the Season Award for his troubles.
Therefore, it was little surprise that reports emerged that Rangers want to sign Devlin this summer, and Derek McInnes looks to reunite with the star.
However, many of the Ibrox faithful do not believe that the midfielder is good enough, especially when the club are eyeing several quality additions in this area.
Devlin made 28 appearances in the Scottish Premiership last season as Hearts finished second in the division.
Rangers eye Cammy Devlin deal
Devlin was no doubt one of the top performers in the Scottish Premiership last season.
His defensive prowess helped Hearts see out many victories, which was crucial to the club’s title race.
However, this was Devlin’s first true standout season in the division, having previously being part of the Jambos side that finished in the bottom half in the 2024-25 season.
Therefore, considering Rangers have already brought in Dan Neil, and are eyeing numerous other midfielders, many are unsure why the club is pursuing the star.
As a result, once Rangers Review’s report emerged, many took to X to complain about the potential signing.
What other business are Rangers set to complete?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Rangers are pushing to reach an agreement with Tromso to sign Jens Hjerto-Dahl.
The 20-year-old midfielder has emerged as one of the Gers’ top targets, and the club has already seen a bid rejected by the Norwegian club.
However, Rangers are hopeful that a deal can still be agreed as they prepare to submit a new and improved offer.
McInnes is keen to remain proactive in the transfer market as the club searches for players to improve their squad.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if the Gers are able to get a deal over the line for Hjerto-Dahl, with numerous other clubs also credited with interest in the youngster.
