Rangers' deal to sign him on loan also includes the option for them to buy him for £1.75million, and it already looks like a no-brainer for them to trigger that clause.
Penrice was a crucial part of a combative defence that kept Celtic firmly at arm's length throughout the 90 minutes, and he also made significant contributions at the other end of the pitch.
The full-back didn't register an assist during the game, but all three of Rangers' goals originated from his impressive deliveries down the left flank.

Rangers to block exit after Lawrence Shankland update
Football Insider revealed last week that Rangers are set to block any possibility of Bojan Miovski leaving the club in January after the injury to Lawrence Shankland.
Shankland has joined fellow frontman Youssef Chermiti on the treatment table at Ibrox, and could be out of action for up to four months.
With that in mind, it is understood that Miovski will have a role to play for McInnes' side, despite having previously been out in the cold.
He recently scored a late winner against St Mirren, and the Gers will be hoping that he can continue to contribute in the coming months.
