Sources: Rangers turn attention to signing Cozier-Duberry in newly-structured deal

Rangers are ready to turn their attention towards a potential loan deal for Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, sources have told Football Insider.

The Glasgow giants have been working to try to sign the 21-year-old permanently, but are also now "very interested" in a loan deal as the 3 September deadline approaches.

Rangers have already had a bid worth £7.5million rejected by the Seagulls, who are not prepared to lower their £10m valuation.

However, sources say that a loan deal for Cozier-Duberry will also be difficult for Rangers to strike, given the fact there is a raft of interest from English Championship clubs.

Derek McInnes' side are very much open to a season-long loan, but it is likely to depend on whether Brighton would rather send him to the Championship.

Cozier-Duberry notched 20 goal involvements in his loan spell with Bolton last season, and is on the radar of several clubs as a result.

Rangers are still in the market for attacking reinforcements in the final days of the transfer window, after a difficult start for McInnes' side.

Losing Mikey Moore at the end of his loan spell from Tottenham served as a major blow, but they are now trying to land another promising young winger in Cozier-Duberry.

The Gers have been trying to secure a permanent deal for the wideman, but have been unable to get close to Brighton's £10m asking price so far.

In the final days of their window, they are prepared to strike a deal for Cozier-Duberry in any way they can, even if that ultimately proves to be just a straight loan deal.

Rangers have the slight advantage of two extra days to work with compared to the English window.

They will be hoping that no deal for Cozier-Duberry before the EFL's Tuesday 11pm deadline could potentially leave them with a clear run at the player.
