Thomas Christiansen is set to continue his busy summer transfer activity with the capture of Rayo Vallecano player Alejandro Machuca, according to a report.
The report in Union Rayo claims that the player has left the Spanish second-tier side and been given permission to fly to England to join up with Leeds United.
The 19-year-old joined Rayo Vallecano in the 2014/15 season and has performed well for the B side without yet troubling the senior side.
He will now join up with the Leeds Under-23s as Thomas Christiansen looks to build for the future, as well as overhauling the first-team squad that he inherited from Garry Monk.
Machuca is an attacking midfielder who can also play as a winger, and will be looking to impress before fighting for a first-team place.
He is a pacey left-footed player who likes to take on defenders and has a powerful shot.
Leeds have already made seven signings this summer as they look to go one better than last season’s near miss in the Championship.
The Whites held a play-off place for most of the season but at the end they were pipped into seventh by Fulham.
Machuca will join new signings Caleb Ekuban, Vurnon Anita, Felix Wiedwald, Mateusz Glich, Madger Gomes, Pontus Jansson and Hadi Sacko at Elland Road.
In other Leeds transfer news, fans have reacted with disappointment as top-flight club reportedly open talks over this senior star.
