Leeds are set to announce their seventh summer signing within the next 24 hours, as Leeds manager Garry Monk continues his Elland Road revolution.

Now, Radio Yorkshire presenter and journalist Joe Rawson has revealed on his Twitter account that Leeds will be announcing a signing imminently, and that it's not Bridcutt.

Rumours circulating on social media claim the unnamed Bundesliga midfielder is Hamburg's Swedish international Albin Ekdal, who has played for Juventus and Cellino's former side Cagliari.

Cellino has been in talks over the weekend with the agent of an unnamed midfielder, after meeting the player's representatives in his native Sardinia.

The 61-year-old described the midfielder to the Mail as 'similar' to Bridcutt, who normally operates as a marshal between the defence and midfield.

Manager Garry Monk has been linked with adding experience to his midfield, with Mathieu Flamini, Andrea Lazzari and Leon Osman all being linked with an Elland Road move.

There are just over two weeks until Leeds begin their Championship campaign, starting with a trip to London to face Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink’s Queens Park Rangers on 7 August.

Monk has made six signings so far, bringing in Rob Green, Kyle Bartley, Matt Grimes, Hadi Sacko, Kemar Roofe and Marcus Antonsson.
