Tottenham are not eyeing Leicester attacker Riyad Mahrez this summer, according to a reliable journalist.
Mirror writer Darren Lewis has reported via his personal Twitter account on Friday that Spurs are not in for the 26-year-old right-winger and that he has never been in the club’s sights despite reports.

Lewis’ claim follows a report from the London Evening Standard stating that Tottenham had asked Leicester to be kept informed over the 2016 Premier League winning attacker, who is being valued at £50million.
The Algerian attacker reportedly wants to leave Leicester this summer after they failed to return to the Champions League after their shock league win.
After being named the 2015-16 Premier League Players’ Player of the Year Mahrez himself also struggled to pick up his previous form in the last campaign, but he still managed a return of 10 goals and seven assists in 48 matches in all competitions and Mahrez has three years remaining on his current contract.
Football Insider verdict:
Mahrez is a talented player, but he has also only been able to show that he can impress in England’s top-flight in just one campaign where he was playing with N’Golo Kante and the rest of his team excelled. Additionally, Leicester want £50million for their star player, which would smash Spurs’ current transfer record which saw them splash out £30million for both Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela. It is felt that Tottenham need to add some more attacking depth to their already impressive side, but Mahrez is simply not the best option for the club at this moment in time.
In other Tottenham transfer news, a club have had a £21million bid rejected for long-term Spurs target.
