Danny Mills showered Leeds United defender Oliver Casey with praise after the 19-year-old made his debut against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Whites defender shared that Casey reminded him of current first-teamer Ben White.
The young centre-back made his Leeds debut after replacing Mateusz Klich in the 84th minute of the 2-0 win over the Terriers.
Mills explained that Casey appeared to be very much in the mould of White as he looked calm as well as assured when on the ball.
The ex-Leeds full-back also added that he thought Casey looked a really good prospect in his opinion.
When asked what he thought about Casey following his Leeds debut, Mills told Football Insider: “I thought he looked very good actually.
“He looked very much in the mould of Ben White in all honesty.
“When he came on, he looked calm, he looked assured and composed when he needed to be coming out from the back.
“And for a young player, he looks a really good prospect.”
Casey signed his first professional contract with Leeds in November 2018 after impressing for the club’s U-18s side.
Marcelo Bielsa side’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday saw them move back to the top of the Championship ahead of West Bromwich Albion playing Swansea City on Sunday.
The Baggies sit one-point behind the Whites and know that victory over the Swans will see them regain top spot.
