Report: Arsenal set to rival PL giants for 26-year-old Serie A ace, club wants at least £30m
By Matt Bullin
Arsenal are interested in signing Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, according to a report.
Italian media outlet Transfer Market Web claims Arsene Wenger is ready to rival Man City to sign the £30million rated Brazilian as he looks to solve his defensive woes.
Real Madrid are also interested in the former Porto player.
The 26-year-old has been a consistent performer in Juventus’ side this season and he has made 40 appearances in all competitions, supplying five assists.
Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly looking to get Sandro to commit to a new long-term deal with the club, but no contract has been signed yet.

However, the player is already contracted with Juventus until 2020 and it is claimed that club would not let him go for less then £30million.
Sandro has scored twice and added four assists across 26 Serie A appearances this season.
Wenger is looking to make wholesale changes to his squad in the summer after a disappointing season that has seen them struggle to make the top four.
Champions League qualification is currently out of their hands with three games left to play.
They’re currently four points behind Liverpool in third, with a game in hand.
Football Insider verdict
The Gunners need new world class players and Sandro fits the bill. The 26-year-old is one of the best attacking full-backs in Europe and would provide a boost to any side, but particularly Arsenal. If Wenger stays on he’s got one chance to save his legacy at Arsenal, and signing players of the quality of Sandro will give him a fighting chance of leaving with silverware. However, it’s arguable that there will be bigger concerns in the summer, with star players Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil both stalling over new contracts. Wenger might find that he has to sign players as a necessity to fill vacant positions, rather than looking to improve on what he’s already got.
