Report: Aston Villa have another bid rejected for highly-rated defender, Bruce remains hopeful

By Amir Mir

Aston Villa have had another bid for highly-rated Bury defender Jacob Bedeau turned down, according to a report.

HITC claim that Villa are expected to come in with another offer for the 17-year-old after the Championship side had two bids rejected for his services.

The Birmingham Mail previously claimed that Villa had an opening bid of £750,000 rejected by for Bedeau who is being courted by a number of big name clubs.

Bedeau has been on the bench for Chris Brass’ side in recent games as the League One outfit are set to take on Walsall on Saturday.

It is claimed by HITC that Bury are resigned to losing their young star and Villa are set to go back in for the centre-back as they bid to land him before the Tuesday cut-off point.

A number of Premier League and Championship clubs have been looking at the teenager as it is claimed that Villa are keen to beat their rivals to his signature.

Football Insider verdict:

Bury should hold off for the best possible deal for their young defender because he is set to achieve big things in the game. With a number of clubs, including Premier League sides, scouting him, it just goes to show the level of talent the teenager has. Therefore, a big money move for Bedeau would suit the League One club more because it means the manager can use that money to improve his struggling squad which is fighting relegation. However, with the transfer window set to slam shut on Tuesday a deal needs to be made quickly before Bury lose out on some good money and Villa lose out on a potential future talent. All in all, the move will benefit all parties, in particular the player who will get to prove his worth at a higher level.
