Report: Rangers attacker set for late January exit in Ibrox transfer update
Rangers winger Joe Dodoo is set for the exit door at Ibrox as he is the most likely departure prior to Wednesday’s transfer deadline, according to a report.
The Daily Record claim on their website that the 22-year-old forward has no part to play at the club any more and that the Light Blues are looking to offload him from the wage bill, with just two days left to find a suitor for his services.
He was outcast from the club’s senior squad for their warm weather training camp in Florida during the Scottish winter break, with fellow outcast Dalcio even managing to be included, and is without a single appearance for the club this season, having moved to Charlton Athletic in a summer deadline day deal which ended at the turn of the year.
The Daily Record’s transfer update also suggests that Eduardo Herrera and Niko Kranjcar could also be set for the exit door, while Fabio Cardoso, Jordan Rossiter and Bruno Alves all have a chance to remain despite reports of interest from elsewhere.
Football Insider verdict
There are only a couple of days let of the January transfer window but it appears as though Rangers could well be active until the clock strikes midnight and the doors shut. However, while they have seen a whole host of faces through the door at Ibrox, there have not been as many senior departures as fans might have expected, and it could be that the club’s focus is now on ridding themselves of dead weight and clearing up the wage bill. Supporters can expect to see at least one departure before Wednesday, while the Light Blues may well want to see more, but it could prove a difficult task to ship out unwanted talent.
