Rangers are eying a move for Norwich City’s Steven Whittaker and Motherwell duo, Ben Heneghan and Louis Moult, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun claim that Pedro Caixinha is keen on a double deal for centre-back Heneghan and Moult, who has scored 17 goals in all competitions for his top-flight club.
It is said he is also considering a move for the club’s former player, Whittaker, who is currently playing in the English Championship.
Despite struggling at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership, striker Moult has still managed to score 14 goals from 28 league games added with his three strikes in cup competitions.
SunSport revealed that Rangers were interested in Heneghan on Wednesday as they now plan a triple raid on Moult, Heneghan and Whittaker.
Right-back Whittaker has barely featured for his team this season, with his contract due to expire in the summer.
Football Insider verdict:
There is no doubt that Rangers need investment in their squad and signing quality players rather than a large number of players should be their priority. Striker Moult, who is young and has scored goals in the Scottish Premiership, could be a big capture for the club. On the other hand, bringing back their former player, Whittaker might add that extra quality and experience the Gers have been missing all season. However, there is no doubt that the highly-expectant fans will want top-flight players added to their ranks in the summer.
