Report: Tottenham set for £100k-a-week talks with international hero as Euro giants eye swoop

Tottenham are set to hold talks with Christian Eriksen over a new contract worth in the region of £100,000-a-week as they look to ward off interest from European giants Juventus, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claim on their website that the Italian title hopefuls are eyeing up a potential swoop for the Danish international, and that the north London side are looking to open negotiations to improve his current £70,000-a-week contract and keep him tied down to the club.
He has two years remaining on his current deal, which was signed back in the summer of 2016, and has a total of 207 outings under his belt since joining from Dutch giants Ajax in 2013, scoring 49 times and chipping in with 64 assists.
The 25-year-old has been a crucial figure for the Lilywhites this season, with 28 appearances, seven goals and eight assists across all competitions, and has proven his talents on both the domestic and world stage.
As well as starring for Tottenham, Eriksen was Denmark’s hero in their World Cup qualifying play-off against the Republic of Ireland back in November, netting a hat trick in the second leg to send his country to the World Cup finals in Russia, in what was his 75th cap.
In other Tottenham transfer news, another top flight giant is lining up a swoop for one of the club’s powerhouses.
