Report: Tottenham set for sensational £87.5m profit as title winners plot stunning swoop
French title winners Paris St Germain are set to launch a sensational £100million move for Tottenham midfield star Christian Eriksen this summer, according to a report.
The Express claim on their website that the Ligue 1 outfit, who wrapped up the league title in April, have named the Danish international as their number one target and are prepared to splash the cash for his signing.
The mega money price tag would mean that Spurs would be handed a huge £87.5million worth of profit off his sale, having reportedly signed him for just £12.5million from Ajax back in 2013.
Football Insider verdict
There are very few stars that Mauricio Pochettino is likely to want to sell this summer and Eriksen will certainly not be one of those, having established himself as a top talent both in Europe and the Premier League. He has been in sensational form for Spurs this season, scoring 14 goals and chipping in with 13 assists across all competitions and it is those sort of numbers which have resulted in such a big money price tag hovering over his head. Will the £100million be enough to tempt Pochettino and Daniel Levy to sell up? That sort of figure is not to be scoffed at and if an offer of that size really is made, then there will be a serious consideration to make. Still, Tottenham have had issues of reinvesting hefty fees that they have received before, Gareth Bale’s departure a prime example, and whether they could fetch a player of Eriksen’s calibre would have to remain to be seen.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club must poach a senior giant from a relegated side this summer.
