Marcelo Bielsa is torn over whether to let Tyler Roberts quit Leeds United this month, Football Insider can reveal.

The Wales international's United future hangs in the balance as he has made just two Premier League starts this season and struggled for game time.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Bielsa is yet to make his mind up on whether Roberts, 21, should head out of the club either on loan or permanently.

Football Insider revealed early on Thursday that clubs at the top and bottom of the Championship have registered their interest in signing Roberts this month.

Bielsa is believed to value the Welshman's versatility highly and is convinced the player has the qualities to contribute significantly between now and the end of the season.

Yet, the commitment to keep Roberts will be tested over the course of this transfer window.

The player's suitors are looking for encouragement from Leeds that a deal may be possible.

Roberts has suffered a frustrating campaign in which he has plummeted down the pecking order following the signings of Rodrigo Moreno and Raphinha in the last window.

Tellingly, he has not figured in Leeds' last four matches and did not even make the matchday squad for the 3-0 defeat at Tottenham.

Roberts has been in and out of the Leeds side since signing from West Brom in a deal worth up to £4m in January 2018.

He has played only 63 times for United in three years, partly due to a series of major injuries.
