Revealed: Harry Kane stance on quitting Tottenham if Pochettino agrees deal

Harry Kane is expected to stay put at Tottenham if they appoint Mauricio Pochettino as manager, sources have told Football Insider.

The 29-year-old striker is entering the final year of his deal and is a top target for Bayern Munich and Man United this summer.

But it is understood that Kane could be tempted to sign a new deal with the club should Pochettino replace Antonio Conte at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Conte is set to be sacked imminently by Tottenham or leave the club in the summer upon the expiration of his contract.

Tottenham have already begun searching for a replacement, with Julian Nageslmann, Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique the frontrunners for the soon-to-be vacancy.

Football Insider sources revealed on Friday (24 March) that recently-sacked Nagelsmann has emerged as Tottenham’s first-choice manager target.

Kane recently became Tottenham’s all-time scorer after surpassing Sir Jimmy Greaves’ record of 266 with his goal against Man City in early February.

The England captain has spent the entirety of his senior career with Spurs, making 425 appearances for the club.

Kane shares a good relationship with Pochettino after spending five years together in London. Kane scored 169 times in 242 games under his stewardship.

Tottenham also reached the Champions League final under the Argentine in 2019 but ended up losing to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side in Madrid.

Pochettino was sacked by Spurs just months after reaching the final, and he spent three seasons with PSG before departing in July 2022.
