Liverpool are convinced they already have the long-term replacement for Adam Lallana in rising star Curtis Jones, Football Insider understands.

The England international is available on a free transfer from the end of June and heads the list of stars exiting Anfield when the season finishes.

A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that the club will not try and replace Lallana in the transfer market due to Jones' huge progress this season.

Jurgen Klopp has high hopes for Jones and regards him as a first-team squad member capable of playing more frequently next season.

The Liverpool manager was blown away by the progress made by the teenager either side of the new year, when he made two Premier League substitute appearances as well as six in the domestic cups.

Jones, who only turned 19 in January, has already made five senior starts among nine appearances.

Like Lallana, he is technically outstanding and capable of operating in central midfield or more advanced positions.

The Merseysiders rewarded Jones with a new five-year contract last August that runs until the summer of 2024.

As for Lallana, he is a wanted man going into the summer even though he turns 32 on Sunday.

Multiple Premier League clubs are keen to snap him up on free transfer as well as top-flight sides in Italy and Spain after Liverpool gave the green light for him to go by failing to offer an extension to his contract.

He has stayed fit in this campaign but has made just three Premier League starts among his 22 appearances in all competitions.

Lallana joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2014 and has made 178 appearances for the club, scoring 22 times and providing 22 assists.
