Revealed: Solskjaer 'convinced' he has two Man United signings in the bag
EXCLUSIVE
Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer is “convinced” Manchester United have bagged two new signings in the first week of the transfer window, Football Insider can reveal.
The United boss has sanctioned deals for Swansea City winger Daniel James and Stoke City centre-back Nathan Collins.
A United source has told Football Insider the club are in talks to land both Championship players and are confident of securing them over the coming days.
Manager Solskjaer has had contact with the camps of both players and is “convinced” they want to take a giant step in their careers by moving to Old Trafford this summer.
Football Insider revealed on Wednesday that United had tabled a £7million bid for 18-year-old Collins, and 24 hours earlier reported that a £15million deal is advanced for James to join from Swansea.
The capture of the Wales international, 21, is likely to be slightly later than initially planned following the death of his father, but it is still expected to be finalised.
Collins also fits the bill as the type of young, hungry player Solskjaer wants as he looks to completely overhaul the squad that stuttered to a sixth place finish in the recently completed Premier League season.
United intend to concentrate this summer on signing players with their best years ahead of them rather than those, such as the wretched and exhorbitant Alexis Sanchez transfer, who have already peaked.
In other Man United news, it can be REVEALED that the 20-times league winners have been blown out of the water by Liverpool after they agreed deal to sign starlet.
