Tottenham are keeping very close tabs on Ajax as they plot a triple signing swoop, Football Insider understands.

A source with knowledge of Spurs’ recruitment explained the club are closely monitoring the Champions League quarter-finalists and have scouted them heavily this season.

The source told Football Insider the three players being watched most closely by Tottenham are centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, winger Hakim Ziyech and playmaker Donny van de Beek.

Spurs also made an offer for their teammate Frenkie de Jong last summer but he turned them down and has signed a pre-contract with Barcelona ahead of a summer transfer.

The north Londoners are in the market for reinforcements this summer after consecutive fallow transfer windows and are eager to snap up rising stars of European football who are available at affordable prices.

De Ligt, 19, is Ajax’s captain and already an established Holland international, and De Beek, 21, has also progressed from the club’s academy to become a key first-teamer for the club who will face Juventus in the Champions League last eight.

Morocco international Ziyech, 26, is far more experienced than his teammates and has had an outstanding season, scoring 18 goals and supplying a further 17 assists from 38 matches in all competitions.

In other Tottenham transfer news, it can be REVEALED the club have made a £50million move to sign a 26-year-old.
