Darren Bent has encouraged Tottenham Hotspur to complete a January deal for former player Christian Eriksen.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley, the former Spurs striker delivered his verdict after it was revealed his former club have been offered the Denmark international by Inter Milan.
Football Insider revealed earlier this week the Italian giants are keen to get Eriksen off their wage bill and had offered Spurs to re-chance the playmaker.
Eriksen has got off to a bad start to life on the continent after his January move and he is yet to register a goal or assist for his new club this term.
He even admitted to Danish TV station TV2, as reported by TEAMTalk, that his current situation is “not what I dreamed of”.
Asked by Football Insider whether Spurs should seriously consider a move for Eriksen, Bent said: “Why not? We know he’s a player with a lot of quality.
“Why would they not try and get him back?
“Where would he fit for Mourinho is the question? We know he’s been a very, very good player.
“The midfield is looking very good down there at Spurs so it’s a little bit of a toughie.
“I always think, and this will never change, football clubs having as many good players in the building as possible rather than scratching around trying to find good players.
“If you can get them back at a ridiculous cut price then yes, I would.
“He knows the Premier League, it’s not like you’re signing a player and wondering how they’re going to adapt.”
Eriksen played 305 times across all competitions for Tottenham in the six and half years he spent in north London.
