'Brainless', 'I will cry' - Tottenham fans fume at report linking ace with deadline day exit

Tottenham fans were fuming on social media over a report that believed Southampton were trying to sign Erik Lamela.
The Independent reported that the Saints had enquired on deadline day about whether a deal could be done for the 25-year-old and the newspaper believed if Lamela was to leave it would be on loan.
The winger who can play on either flank has made 12 appearances across all competitions for Spurs this season, having returned from a thigh injury that kept him out for over a year.
Lamela is yet to score a goal but has registered two assists in his outings this season, and fans were keen for him not to leave the club in January.
One supporter vowed to riot if the Argentinian left on deadline day, while another fan said it would be a brainless decision to let him go.
The Independent also shared that the potential arrival of Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain could see Lamela face a tough task being named in Tottenham’s Champions League squad.
One Spurs fan said on Twitter that it would be classic Tottenham to strengthen the side with Moura, while weakening it at the same time by letting Lamela leave.
The Argentinian international has been at Spurs since joining from AS Roma in 2013, and is contracted to the club until 2020.
