Robinson can't believe 'very strange' words from Neville at Liverpool
Paul Robinson has lauded Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah and Man City midfielder Phil Foden but can’t believe Gary Neville awarded them joint man-of-the-match.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and England number one claimed “it was very strange” to see the duo share the accolade but admitted they were both “absolutely brilliant”.
Salah and Foden both scored in a gripping 2-2 draw between the two previous Premier League champions at Anfield.
Neville could not pick between the pair when awarding the man of the match award while commentating for Sky Sports.
According to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein (October 4th), both Liverpool and City will be sent an award to be distributed to their respective players.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the joint man of the match award, Robinson said: “It was a very strange one.

“I can’t remember seeing that before.
“They [Salah and Foden] were both absolutely brilliant on the day though. They were the standout players in what was a great game to watch.
“Foden is getting better every week. I am running out of superlatives for him.
“The way he accepts the ball and runs with the ball is a joy to watch. He was causing the Liverpool players all sorts of problems. It’s fantastic for England and Man City to see him developing like this. He is going to be a huge part of both teams in the coming years.”
