Robinson hails 'brilliant' Hart as new details of Celtic transfer emerge
Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Joe Hart after it was revealed the goalkeeper took a pay cut to join Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Leeds United goalkeeper said he understands "every reason" why the 34-year-old has moved to Parkhead having dreamed of playing for the Hoops himself.
Celtic confirmed the signings of Joe Hart and James McCarthy on Wednesday.
Hart joins from Tottenham on a three-year deal and Fabrizio Romano reported on August 2nd he will earn £15,000-a-week in Glasgow.
It comes after Football Insider revealed July 31st that the former England international was willing to take a pay cut to move to Celtic Park.
Robinson claimed Hart can get his career back on track in the Scottish Premiership.
"Joe has had a brilliant career and he is a very wealthy man because of it," he told Football Insider's Dylan Childs.
"However, his career has stalled over the last few years. This is a real opportunity to go and play week in, week out for one of the biggest clubs in the world. He can go there and challenge for trophies.
"It was a dream of mine to go to either of those clubs because as a footballer, when you look at Celtic Park, the fans, the global following of the club and the city of Glasgow, it's a great opportunity.
"I understand every reason why Joe has taken the pay cut to join Celtic."
