Robinson in 'no doubt' over Darwin Nunez after 'massive' Liverpool reveal
Paul Robinson is adamant Darwin Nunez will “prove to be a great signing” for Liverpool on the evidence of the striker’s performance against Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the 23-year-old’s “composure will come with time.”
Nunez grabbed his ninth goal contribution of the season as the Reds beat Spurs 2-1 on Sunday (6 November).
Speaking to Sky Sports post-match (6 November), Jurgen Klopp heaped praise on Nunez and described him as “a massive threat” going forward.
However, Klopp said the Uruguay international needs to improve defensively.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Nunez’s development and composure in front of goal, Robinson said: “I think composure will come with time.

“Look, he has not hit the ground running like Erling Haaland but he has still done well. It has been a slow burner. He is getting better though.
“He needs time to adapt to the league. The sending off did not help. It brought an added pressure.
“Slowly but surely he is showing his ability though. He is only going to get better.
“Every time he plays he looks a threat. I have no doubt that he will prove to be a great signing for Liverpool in the long run.”
Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica in the summer in a deal that Football Insider revealed last month cost £128million in total.
He has contributed seven goals and two assists in 16 appearances across all competitions.
