Robinson issues 'unbelievable' Andy Robertson claim after what he's spotted at Liverpool

Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Liverpool defender Andy Robertson for his “unbelievable” form since returning from injury.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one suggested the 28-year-old has been spurred on by competition from Kostantinos Tsimikas.

Robertson starred for Jurgen Klopp’s side in a 3-1 win over Southampton on Saturday (12 November).

The Scotland international provided two assists and six key passes during his 85 minutes on the pitch.

As quoted by the Liverpool Echo (14 November), the left-back conceded there have been “below-par performances” from the team this season and vowed to turn things around post-Christmas.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Robertson’s display against the Saints, Robinson said: “Robertson is back.

He was unbelievable at the weekend.

For me, he is the best full-back Liverpool have got. He has everything to his game.

He has been excellent of late. Everyone is allowed a little wobble. Not everyone can be at the top of their game at all times.

Perhaps the competition with Tsimikas is spurring him on.

Robertson has come back into the side and is settled alongside Virgil van Dijk. The whole team is playing better.”

Robertson has contributed seven assists in 16 appearances across all competitions this season.

He is one of the Liverpool player who will not be going to the World Cup.

In other news, a source has revealed a Premier League club has been offered Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of the January window.
