Paul Robinson has tipped West Brom to get "asset stripped" if they suffer relegation this season.

The former Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, named Matheus Pereira, 24, and Sam Johnstone, 27, as the two players most likely to depart.

Sam Allardcye's side are 10 points adrift of Newcastle United and safety with nine games remaining of the season.

Johnstone has been one of Albion's standout performers this season and no goalkeeper in Europe's top five league has made more saves than him (123). (Wyscout)

He will enter the final 12 months of his contract at The Hawthorns this summer and has already been linked with a move to Tottenham.

Robinson believes clubs will already be considering moves for West Brom's best players.

"You worry for West Brom if they go down because they have some decent players in that team and clubs will be looking," he told Football Insider.

"I think they will get asset stripped if they go down.

"Obviously, Connor Gallagher will go back to Chelsea, Pereira will get snapped up and Sam Johnstone will get picked up by someone. If they go down they will lose some of, if not all of their top players."

Gallagher, Mbaye Diagne, Okay Yokuslu and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are all on loan at The Hawthorns.

They are set to return to their parents clubs at the end of the season.
