Tottenham players will make fun out of Harry Kane and Gareth Bale after their comments over the international break, according to Paul Robinson.

The former White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said Kane, 27, might expect to see "a Real Madrid or Barcelona shirt on his peg" when he returns from England duty.

As quoted by Sky Sports, the centre-forward revealed on Sunday that he will make a call on his future after this summer’s Euros.

While Bale revealed his intention to return to Real Madrid at the end of the season upon the completion of his loan spell.

Robinson claimed the Spurs dressing room will not be bothered by the pairs comments and suggested they would instead make a joke out of them.

"What they've said over the international break will be turned into banter in the dressing room," he told Football Insider.

"Players know that players come and go. It is a matter of fact.

"They will have a few jokes with Harry Kane, somebody will put a Real Madrid or a Barcelona shirt on his peg, something like that. Or say something like, 'I didn't expect to see you back again.' That is what players do.

"Anything like that, nine times out of 10 is turned into dressing room banter.

"I think there will be a bit of tongue and cheek but it will be all good for the harmony of the dressing room and team morale."
