Sadio Mane: This is what Liverpool must do to secure a top-four finish
By Danny Wright
Sadio Mane believes that Liverpool have to iron out their inconsistencies if they are to move up a level and qualify for the Champions League.
The Reds currently occupy fourth in the Premier League after beating Arsenal on Saturday.
However the 24-year-old has taken notice of the fact that one week his side can lose to a struggling team like Leicester before going on to beat a team that is battling alongside them for a Champions League place.
Since the beginning of 2017, Jurgen Klopp’s side have beaten teams like the Gunners and Tottenham, and even got a draw against runaway league leaders Chelsea.
Despite the huge results against other big clubs, Liverpool have lost matches against Wolves, Hull and Leicester since January.

Out of their 27 league games so far, Liverpool have not lost to a team in the top half of the Premier League table with all of their five defeats coming against teams they would be expected to beat.
Liverpool’s next game is against Burnley at Anfield on Sunday. The Clarets are one of those sides in the bottom half that managed to beat the Reds earlier in the season.
“If you want to get to another level, you have to be consistent,” said Mane to Sky Sports.
“If you see the last few weeks, it has been difficult but we have great qualities in the team. If we want to be in the top four, we need to be consistent.”
“The most important thing is the reaction. We reacted [to the defeat at Leicester] by winning against Arsenal and the confidence is back now and we are looking forward.”
Mane is enjoying a brilliant debut season at Anfield and has scored 12 goals in 26 games in all competitions since moving from Southampton for £34million in the summer.
The attacker became the latest player to move from St. Mary’s to Merseyside along with Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert.
In other Liverpool news, fans have urged Klopp sign this Borussia Dortmund player after he hit a Champions League hat-trick.
