Robbie Savage predicts Tottenham to finish above Arsenal but fans won't be entirely happy

By Harvey Byrne

Pundit Robbie Savage has predicted Tottenham to finish above Arsenal for the first time in 21 years.

However, Spurs fans won’t be entirely happy as the former midfielder has backed the two north London rivals to finish outside of the Champions League spots.

The former Wales international has predicted Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United to return to England’s top four, with the latter his predicted champions.

“Not many signings, although I don’t think Spurs needed a massive overhaul,” said Savage in his prediction column for the Mirror.

“Vincent Janssen will provide welcome back-up for Harry Kane, whose workload last season was enormous, and Victor Wanyama will beef up the midfield.

“But Champions League football at Wembley will stretch Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.”

The White Hart lane club finished in third place last season after an end-of-season collapse that left that behind bitter rivals Arsenal.

Mauricio Pochettino still managed his side to finish above Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United with the Anfield and Stamford Bridge clubs failing to qualify for European football next season.

However, under managers Jurgen Klopp, Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho there is a feeling that the trio could could return to past glories next season.

Liverpool have spent the longest time away from Champions League football out of the three sides after last playing in the 2014-15 campaign.

In other Tottenham team news, Southampton Under-18s manager Craig Fleming has spoken highly of the Spurs youth side.
