Scottish pundit tells Celtic to sign 'unbelievable' Dembele after Fry latest
Alan Hutton has tipped Siriki Dembele to repeat his goalscoring feats in the Scottish Premiership if he signs for Celtic.
The former Rangers defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists the Peterborough striker has what it takes to succeed at Parkhead.
Barry Fry, Peterborough’s director of football, has revealed Dembele will be sold this summer after handing in a transfer request in January, as first revealed by this site.
Fry told This is Futbol he does not expect the forward to sign a new deal and “the club’s policy is that if you are in the last year of your contract and the club offers you a contract and you refuse it, we put you on the transfer list”.
Football Insider understands both Celtic and Rangers are just two of the clubs chasing the attacker this summer.
Dembele, 24, picked up 12 goals and 11 assists during Posh’s promotion-winning League One campaign.

Hutton claims that even though Dembele is in the last year of his contract, Peterborough will still demand a decent fee.
“Well, he’s scored a lot of goals,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“Yet again, Peterborough have found someone who can score goals. It’s unbelievable.
“If you look at their track record with players like Ivan Toney, Dembele will do what it says on the tin and that’s score goals.
“It would be a good addition. You just wonder about the fee, I understand he’s in the last 12 months in his contract.
“But if Peterborough and going to cash in, they will want decent money. It’s going to come down to how much they have to spend.
“Again, Celtic don’t have a manager. Who’s making the decisions about the budget? It’s such a difficult situation.
“He would be an unbelievable signing. He’s scored goals at a high level so he could come up and do it in the Premiership.”
