Scout deployed: Leeds jet out on Spanish transfer mission - report
By Danny Wright
Leeds United deployed a scout to keep tabs on a Spanish third tier clash between Pena Sport and Sporting Gijon B on Sunday, according to a report.
Scouting expert Scouts in Attendance claimed on their official Twitter account that the Whites had jetted out on a transfer mission to watch the Segunda B clash which was won 6-1 by the Gijon reserve team.
It is understood that Leeds could have been tracking Ismael Cerro, who is said to be close to earning a call up to the Gijon senior squad.

The 22-year-old ex-Real Madrid forward scored a brace in Sunday’s win, bringing his tally for this season up to four goals in five games.
He is yet to make a senior appearance for any of his parent clubs but did have a short loan spell with Racing Santander two seasons ago while he was still on the books at Real Madrid.

Leeds haven’t been afraid to look at the lower Spanish leagues to recruit new talent with Samu Saiz arriving during the summer as part of a major overhaul of the squad.
Football Insider Verdict
Leeds’ summer business could have gone one of two ways but luckily for the club it seems to have worked out very well so far. The signing of Saiz has been a major contributing factor with the Spanish clearly being one of the most gifted players at Elland Road, if not in the whole Championship. Director of football Victor Orta has worked wonders since joining the Whites and his work should not be questioned for the time being. He and his scouts clearly know about someone who took part in the game between Pena Sport and Gijon B on Sunday and Cerro’s Real Madrid pedigree suggests he could be the man.
In other Leeds United news, Thomas Christiansen has delivered a fitness update on this trio and fans will surely be delighted.
