Scouts deployed: Premier League giants step up interest in Celtic star (not Dembele) - report
By Matt Farr
Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Celtic full back Kieran Tierney ahead of a potential summer move, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claim that United’s head of recruitment Marcel Bout has been visiting a number of Celtic’s recent fixtures to watch the 19-year-old in action, as they plot a £10million summer switch.
Bout was reportedly present during the 1-1 Old Firm derby stalemate with rivals Rangers earlier this month, while he is likely to attend Sunday’s Scottish Premiership meeting with Hearts.
Tierney has thrived under Brendan Rodgers this season, becoming a key part of the first-team squad.
He has made 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and supplying 12 assists.

But while Rodgers will be keen for Tierney to continue his development at Celtic, Manchester United are hoping to bring him to the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho could be set to offload full back duo Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian this summer, as speculation continues to grow over their long term futures at Old Trafford.
The potential departures will leave United short of options, and Tierney represents both a high quality, yet low cost option for the club – a rare find in today’s market.
Primarily a left-sided player, Tierney’s impressive showing as a right-back in Scotland’s recent victory over Slovenia suggests he can also provide Mourinho versatility.
Football Insider verdict
Tierney’s displays over the course of the season does warrant a move to a big Premier League club, but Celtic must continue their association with the young star as long as possible. They are likely to receive numerous bids for their top performers in the summer – including both Tierney and Moussa Dembele – but they must do all they can to rebuff the interest. Rodgers has a project to fulfil in Scotland, and selling his best starts after his first campaign is not the way to go about it. Plus, if Celtic were to part with Tierney, they would not likely do so unless they get much more than £10million for him.
